Streamlines (aka How to Save 40 Minutes a Day) - Part 1

Do you always seem to find yourself at the end of the day feeling you weren't as productive as you could have been or saying “I wish I had more time in my day”? As an engineer, I'm always thinking about ways to do things more efficiently and have come up with a few simple ways to help streamline some daily tasks and give myself that extra time throughout the day to do something productive (like brainstorming the next multimillion dollar business idea).

Part 1 - Going to the gym can become quite the process and when you are trying to start a business while holding down a full time job, one of two things will happen.  Depending on your current routine or fitness goals, you can be at the gym from 20 - 90 minutes. When you throw in the time it takes to drive there and back (assuming 10 minutes each way) and the time to change in the locker room (5 minutes on each end), you are looking at another 30 minutes.

Here are a couple of ways you can streamline this time.

Go to the gym on your way to/from work. I know that when I make a pit stop on the way home from work before hitting the gym, I usually waste about 20 minutes and sometimes even wind up flaking out. So now I go from work straight to the gym, which saves some actual driving time and the time I typically waste just vegging out after a long day of work.

Change in the car on the way to the gym. This one can be tough and a little dangerous, but still not as bad as texting and driving….and we have all done that. It might take some practice, but this one will save you the time it takes to find an empty locker (which can be a pain in the ass during crowded gym hours), get changed, and lock everything up before hitting your workouts and the same time on the back end.

When all is said and done, you are looking at a total time saved of 20 - 40 minutes!
